Asbestos-free Oil-resistant Paper Gasket Technical Requirements

I. Material Requirements

1.1. No asbestos content.

This is the most crucial point. There must be absolutely no asbestos in it. Asbestos is like an unwelcome troublemaker, harmful to health. Thus, this paper gasket must be completely asbestos-free.

1.2. Paper raw materials.

Use specially treated fiber raw materials. They will keep the paper gasket stable in various environments.

1.3. Material properties related to oil resistance.

The paper gasket must be oil-resistant to prevent penetration. If oil is a group of mischievous little bugs, then this paper gasket is a solid castle, keeping the bugs out.

II. Dimensions and Shape

2.1. Dimensional accuracy.

The dimensions must be precise. They cannot be sloppy. For example, if the paper gasket has a 10-centimeter diameter, it can’t be 9.5 or 10.5 centimeters. This is like building a house; if the dimensions of the beams are incorrect, the house will not be stable.

2.2. Shape specifications.

If it is a circular paper gasket, it must be as round as a standard plate; if it is square, the four corners must be square. You cannot allow it to become crooked or uneven. Otherwise, it will be as uncomfortable as wearing the wrong shoes.

III. Physical Properties

3.1. Thickness.

The thickness must be appropriate, neither too thick nor too thin. If it is too thick, it may take up space and affect the installation of other components. If it is too thin, it will be like thin ice, easily breaking and failing to serve its purpose.

3.2. Density.

It must have an appropriate density. If the density is too high, the gasket may be too hard and inflexible. This is like making a cake. Too much flour will make it hard. Too little will cause it to fall apart.

3.3. Flexibility.

The paper gasket must have some flexibility. It cannot be as rigid as a hard board but should be able to bend and deform to a certain extent without damage. This is like a person needing some flexibility and not being too inflexible. Only in this way can it better adapt to various situations during installation.

IV. Temperature Resistance

4.1. High-temperature resistance.

It must be able to function normally in a certain high-temperature environment. The paper gasket must not melt or deform at 100°C. This is the max temperature during equipment operation. It must be like a strong soldier, standing firm in high temperatures.

4.2. Low-temperature adaptability.

It must not fail in low-temperature environments. In a 20°C environment, the paper gasket must not become as brittle as potato chips and break easily.

V. Sealing Performance

5.1. Sealing performance test.

You must place this paper gasket in areas where you need to tightly seal oil or fluids. There must be no leakage. A good goalkeeper does not let the ball (in this case, oil or other substances) slip through.

5.2. Long-term sealing reliability.

It is not enough for it to seal well when first installed. It must maintain this sealing performance over a long period. Asbestos-free oil-resistant paper gasket cannot start to leak after a while, like a sealed bag with an end date. It becomes ineffective after that date. This is unacceptable.
