What is the temperature resistance of PTFE gasket

The “Steel Pipe Flanges, Gaskets and Bolting” (HG20592~20635-97) states the application conditions of PTFE-coated gaskets are as follows:

1. Operating temperature: -196℃ to 260℃

2. Operating pressure: ≤ 4.0 MPa

3. pH value: 0 – 14

4. Gasket coefficient: m = 2.5

5. Least pre-tightening specific pressure: y = 20 MPa

The temperature resistance of conventional PTFE gasket is between -100℃ and 250℃. PTFE gaskets act like radiators to conduct out the generated heat. In high-temperature, high-pressure, and corrosive environments, static sealing is very difficult. Dynamic sealing on a few millimeters of sealing surface is even harder.

PTFE gasket must resist temperatures from -100 °C to 250 °C.
